| Versace for H&M: The Aftermath |

After months of anticipation and waiting the Versace for H&M collection was released in North America on Saturday November19th, within a matter of hours the collection was flying off the shelves in h&m stores around the country....the largest consumer of it all the eBay reseller. When Donatella Versace decided to do this collaboration i don't believe her intentions were to make something that was gonna profit other sellers, designer collaborations are intended for the designer to introduce their product to a new group of customers who generally aren't their regular shoppers, but with the recent trends of collections released at H&M and Target we are seeing a more and more growth of customers buying with intentions to re-sell at a higher price, so how successful are these collaborations as measured to what the intention is? An observation from one of the H&M store: Many shoppers seemed more intent on reselling their purchases than wearing them. Ann-Marie Smith, who came with three friends, spent $3,256.32 on dresses, tops, scarves, leggings and jackets, and expects "most of it is going on eBay.
But for now we can at least say Versace for H&M is now over...thank God
